The GST (goods and service tax) registration is mandatory for all business entities functioning in India, with revenues exceeding 20,00,000 per annum. The process of GST registration, online is simple and efficient. Here are the steps you must take as a first time user: Step1: Open the browser and visit the GST portal (https://reg.gst.gov.in/registration/) Step2: Click on the "services" tab which you will see on the main menu. There you will see some other options such as user services and registration. Flutter the mouse over the registration tab, and you will see more options. Step3: Click on the "new registration". A new form will appear on the same window. Step4: Key in the required details like; you name as per the PAN (permanent account number) card, Email ID, mobile number, PAN card, state/union territory and whether you are a GST practitioner/taxpayer/tax deductor. After filling the form, click on "proceed" to move further. Step5: You will receive an OTP (one-time-password) number on the registered mobile number and email ID, enter that OTP and click on “continue”. Step6: A TRN (temporary reference number) will be sent at your given email ID and you can also see the same TRN on your computer screen. Save that number for future reference. Finding and tracking your temporary reference number, online with ease Step1: Visit the GST portal again and select the “services” tab. Click on “registration” tab from the drop-down menu and then select “new registration”. Step2: A new page will open when you will click on the TRN option. Step3: Enter the CAPTCHA characters and the TRN number, and click on "proceed". Step4: You will receive an OTP on your registered email ID and mobile number, enter the OTP and click on proceed. Step5: Towards the end, you will see a draft format of the application on the computer screen. Click on the edit tab. Checking your ARN status verification Step1: A new page will display on the screen. There you will see ten separate segments where you need to enter the necessary details and attach the requested documents. Requisite documents include (but are not limited to): ?Photographs ?IDs of the business owner/proprietor ?Proof of location of the business, like the rental/lease agreement ?Bank account details ?Authorization form Step 2: Visit the attestation page and select the declaration stated. Step 3: Now, tender your application by using DSC, e-sign, and EVC. Step2: Click on “track application status” option which you will see right under the registration tab. Step3: Enter your ARN (application reference number) and click on the search button.
