Moving to Indy |

I recently moved from my native land Lexington, Kentucky to Indianapolis. Doing so has been a sad experience for me. I've lived my entire life inside the state boundaries of KY so leaving has been bittersweet. However, there's an upside to the story. We've really enjoyed it. Let me share with you some of my favorite things about Indy so far. #1 Professional Sports My wife and I drove past the Lucas Oil Stadium and I couldn't help but get extremely excited. I already have tickets to some of the pre-season games and I'm very much looking forward to taking my sons to it. My only sorrow is that Peyton Manning isn't here. We also had the chance to watch the Pacers play in their playoff series. I'm disappointed they lost and the likelihood of Paul George staying isn't looking way promising which would be sad for the franchise. All that being said, being able to see an NBA game and having easy access to that is something I've already really enjoyed. The Indy 500 is something I am really looking forward to. Everyone I have talked to about things to do around here have mentioned it. I think it's a bit of a cultural inauguration to attend! However, a lot of people have said it's just a lot of people drinking. I'm okay with that though! #2 Beautiful Communities Lexington is beautiful and living there has always been a pleasure. Indy's suburbs are really a thing of beauty as well. My wife loves how poshy and clean Carmel feels. #3 Great People I think my wife and I had convinved ourselves that nowhere in the world would have as great of people as Kentucky. While this is still true, we love our neighbors and pretty much everyone we come in contact with. We have been impressed with how open, inviting and friendly the people have been. It may not be the bluegrass state but we still feel tremendously blessed to live here.
